“What excellent boiled potatoes. It’s been many years since I’ve had such an exemplary vegetable.”

What started as a nod to my simple amusement and dry humor grew into something I never anticipated: a gathering of people who understand that excellent pottery, excellent boiled potatoes, and a perfectly delivered literary reference can bring an unreasonable amount of joy.

Mr. Collins’ Vegetable Bowl has become so much more than one silly idea. Every comment, shared laugh, and enthusiastic declaration of love for this ridiculous little bowl has helped build a community I genuinely adore—and I’m delighted to offer another round of preorders.

Each bowl is individually handmade in durable stoneware and finished in the original blue-and-white colorway. The sculpted decorative edging, hand-applied lettering, and glossy glaze make it equally suited for serving exemplary vegetables or sitting somewhere prominent to be admired.

Preorder details

This preorder will remain open indefinitely. Purchasing through this listing reserves a bowl for you and guarantees that you will receive one.

• Colorway: Original glossy white and blue outer colorway; clear glossy inner colorway - please note there will not be white underglaze inside the bowl as shown in the photo

Please remember that this is a preorder, not a ready-to-ship item. Your bowl(s) will be created especially for you during this production round. Carrier delays after shipment are outside my control.

The production window begins on the date your order is placed. Because every bowl moves through several time-sensitive stages—including drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing—orders may be completed at different points within the stated window.

About future colorways

The original white-and-blue design is the only colorway available for preorder.

Other colorways may occasionally be released as ready-to-ship pieces, but their availability will be limited and cannot be guaranteed. If you want to be certain that a Mr. Collins’ Vegetable Bowl will eventually take up residence in your kitchen, this preorder is the way to secure one.

Handmade variation

Each bowl is made entirely by hand, so slight differences in shape, dimensions, lettering, sculpted details, glaze movement, and color are expected. These variations are part of the character of handmade pottery and mean that no two bowls will be exactly alike.

Food safe. Handwashing is recommended to protect the sculpted details and preserve the finish.

Potatoes are optional. Compliments are inevitable. 🥔
